This Thursday we 'had' to go to the cabin in Hedley to change a window that I broke last week, so, of course as soon as that was done, we just happened to have to drive through Manning Park again! We stopped for lunch, as the above picture shows, it was a gorgeous spot at Mule Deer, for lunch!
We have been trying to get canoeing all summer, and today was our best chance. So, we rented one from the Main lodge at Manning. It was a Thursday, and it was totally empty, there was NO-ONE else there. SO peaceful!

At the far end of the 2nd lake we found a couple of loons, (the bird kind, not the party kind) and followed them around the end of the lake. It was very cool to get so close to them, that when this guy decided to make his (really cool) noise, it actually scared us! Another great Thursday!!
